Initial & Lasting Impressions
When you first open the Kinky-Curly Curling Custard, you will notice the gel feels very gooey and droopy. Although this is how custards usually are, it took some getting used to. You should not be heavy handed with this product, as in this case, a little does go a long way. The custard applied and dried clear onto my hair, which is great for wash n go’s. I didn’t feel any crunch or see any residue after it dried. This product surprisingly did not cause as much shrinkage as other gel stylers do, but still managed to create excellent curl definition. It additionally lasted through humid weather conditions and I didn’t experience that much frizz.

I feel the Kinky-Curly Curling Custard is deservedly one of the best natural hair stylers on the market that I have personally tried. It is a good humidity and frizz fighter, with a strong hold that lasted me all day. It defines your curls without leaving a crunch or causing much shrinkage. The gooey consistency of the custard also made for easy slip and application. All in all, this is a product I would definitely use again.
