The As I Am Curling Jelly comes in either an 8 ounce or 16 ounce jar. It is intended to give your natural curl pattern maximum definition without sacrificing moisture. The consistency of this product is like a gel, except with more slip. It contains aloe vera, an ingredient known for is soothing properties, and multiple other natural extracts. This jelly is also supposed to provide your curl pattern with a lasting hold, in addition to shine and minimal frizz.

I found this product worked best for wash and go’s, and the results that followed proved correct. The As I Am Curling Jelly gave definition to all parts of my hair. This is especially helpful for those who have varying hair types/textures throughout their hair. But with the use of this jelly, it is important that you use some sort of leave-in beforehand to lock in as much moisture. This styling product can at times cause crunchiness – not uncommon with gels/jellies.
However, the curl definition is there and strong. The hold from this product lasted me a whole week (to refresh I just spritzed with water and applied a bit more product). What was also surprising is the shine that this product gave. A lot of products claim to do this, but often times fall short in delivery. However, the As I Am Curling Jelly provided a shine that lasted me multiple days.

Out of the many curl defining gels/jellies I have tried, the As I Am Curling Jelly definitely makes the top five. It gives you a strong curl definition with a hold that can last you throughout the week. The shine and moisture that it preserves makes it great for wash and go’s during the cold or warm seasons, outlasting conditions that may cause frizz. Avoid applying too much of this jelly and make sure you use a leave-in conditioner beforehand though, because it can cause crunchiness at times.
